Before we begin, we would like to start off by saying that, “No, we are not talking about THAT kind of dabbing” –– reference the numerous dabbing memes found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

We are talking about the classic art of dabbing, just you, your sticky, sweet dabs, and your trusty bong out in the world, doing it all.

But, of course, this article is meant for those first-timers who want to explore that wonderful world of dabbing –– and eventually live it up like in our little fantasy just now. We’ll give you all the juicy deets on what is dabbing, what you need to get started, and how to dab the right way. We’ll even give you a couple of freebies with some recommends for bongs and e-mails.

So, grab a pen and paper (or just follow along with us) and let’s dive into the amazing ride that is dabbing –– NOT that kind of dabbing :)

What Is Dabbing?

To put it simply, “dabbing” involves vaporizing extracts using special equipment, like an e-nail, that is heated up and then inhaling the extract as it burns. There are many different types of “dabs” that a user can use like wax, shatter, and butane hash oil.

There are benefits and risks to dabbing –– especially if you don’t know what you are doing. Some benefits reported by experienced dabbers include faster, stronger hits, better tasting hits, and less clean-up (since you don’t have to roll a joint or dispose of dry herb after vaping).

Dabbing involves the use of a torch to heat up the dab rig, bong, or e-nail so, if handled improperly, you can easily start a fire which wouldn’t be good. Secondly, when dabbing, you only need to use a small amount of extract (since it is highly concentrated). If you use too much, it can not only lead to symptoms of overdosing but could build up the tolerance which could lead to withdrawal symptoms down the line.

Get Your Dabbing Tools Ready

To get started, you only need a couple of tools to begin like:

  • A dabbing tool
  • Your concentrates (of course)
  • A dab rig, e-nail, or water pipe
  • A butane torch (to heat up the nail)
  • Other tools to store your concentrates, cleaning supplies to care for your tools, etc.

There are a variety of devices to choose from to get yourself going with dabbing. A few recommend (remember the bonuses we promised?) are Dabado Bolt V2 e-nail which is perfect for beginners, the Hydrology 9 which is more likeable to your typical bong, and, lastly, the ATMOS Studio e-rig which is a cheap option for those on a budget.

How Do I Dab?

Now, we get to the good stuff –– how to dab.

Very easy and simple (stuff like dosing, technique, and practice would probably be the only catches).

The steps to properly dab goes as follows:

  1. Grab your dabbing device of choice and your torch. Heat up the nail on the device with the torch until it is piping hot (please don’t touch to check –– just kidding (but not really)).
  2. Take your dabbing tool and scoop up a SMALL number of your concentrates and apply it to the heated nail.
  3. The concentrates will start to burn so place your mouth on the mouthpiece and inhale the intoxicating goodness traveling up your dabbing buddy.

Take-Away

That’s about it. Easy, huh? Might take a couple of tries to get everything down but we are confident you’ll be a dabbing pro in no time.

Now you know what dabbing is, what you need to do it, and how to do it. Now, you can go and tell your friends, your neighbor, and everybody else who cares to hear. And the great thing is that you can dab on your own or you can dab with a group of friends. It’s all up to you. Enjoy!
