Neck pain is probably one of the most frustrating things to experience!  It is one of those annoying "stiff" pains that with every move you can basically feel the pain.  Mine runs from my upper back between my shoulder blades to the left side of my neck and all the way down through my arm.  Now, I have a very high tolerance of pain (24 hours of active labor without pain medication..)  but the past 2 days the stiffness I have woken up with is literally so uncomfortable.  This has been going on for a while.  I pushed thru and did my leg day on day 2, but day 3 and day 4 (today)  I was really worried that I would hurt myself if I did any type of intense cardio.  So I chose to do Yoga!  Now I did go to the chiropractor and what he stated to me was that I need to stretch those muscles in my upper back and strengthen my shoulders and pull them back.  So on top of all of my exercises, he has me doing more strength training.  The sounds that came from my upper back and neck cracking was...well loud and felt SO GOOD!  Anyways, back to Yoga!  Has anyone ever tried Yoga?  OMG!  Yoga was a practice that I have always found so helpful and centering in my life.  Not only did I take Kripalu Yoga but I really practiced it every day when I was single and living on my own and it really helped me to embrace my body!  It also is so peaceful and relaxing.  Yoga really helps me to stretch tired & sore muscles on top of relaxing and finding some peace.  I highly recommend anyone who wants to try Yoga to do it!  You will not be sorry!  There are so many different forms and in the future I think this will be a topic that I will elaborate on because it is such a passion!  21 Day Fix has a great 30 minute Yoga workout that ends with a relaxation peace.  One of my favorite's to do!  

The other area of the past two days that I have really been rocking is my nutrition!  Notice no where in my writings have I talked about DIET!  What I am doing is NOT a diet.  It is a LIFESTYLE!  Yes you heard me right, clean eating is something I do about 80% of the time.  I have cheats here and there but really I dial in and choose to put whole and clean foods into this beautiful temple of mine.  One of the recipes I had yesterday is my favorite go to recipe. It is a variation of a recipe that I found only I fine tuned it to be a clean version.  It is a Lemon Garlic Pasta dish.  So I thought a perfect way to end my post was a beautiful picture of the finished product of this dish along with the recipe!!! So PLEASE ENJOY!!!!!


LEMON GARLIC PASTA (With Chicken Sausage): Cook Time with Prep (25 minutes)



  • Whole Grain Pasta (or Gluten Free Option, Brown Rice Pasta) I use a whole box for a family of 4 
  • 1 to 2 packages of Chicken Sausage (I use the Aldi's Brand "Kirkwood Mild Chicken Sausage)
  • 1 bunch of green onions 
  • 1 Package of Cherry Tomato's
  • About a tables spoon and a half of extra virgin olive oil, or you could use coconut oil
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • About a tablespoon of Garlic Powder
  • 2 Lemons (Halve them and squeeze juice into a cup)

Putting It All Together:

  1. Fill a pasta pot with water and bring to a boil, add pasta, cook according to directions then set aside.
  2. Remove Chicken Sausage from packaging & slice in pieces.  Take your skillet turn it to high or medium high cook until browned (about 10 min) then set aside.
  3. While sausage is cooking slice your cherry tomato's in half and cut up green onion.
  4. Rinse out skillet and then add your olive oil, minced garlic, tomato's and green onions Sauté them at about a medium high heat.
  5. Mix in Sausage then add in pasta and mix around until evenly mixed.
  6. Take your lemon juice and pour over the mixture....mix again until the juice is evenly distributed then sprinkle your garlic powder in continue to mix.  
  7. Put in a serving dish and ENJOY!
