Hello green beauties,

Here I am again with a recipe of a new DIY. In these days I was running out of my favourite eye cream, the well-loved Martina Gebhardt Eye Care. This product it is a Holly grail for me, especially with cool weather my under eye area became so dry and little wrinkles pop out. As you know keeping your skin moisturized is the first step to preserve youth.

Obviously I was too lazy to make an on-line order to replace my beloved M.G. Eye Care so I procrastinate as much as I can, using some castor oil instead (which, let me tell you, it was more than ok as eye cream). Since I like to play around with DIY I decided to create my own eye cream formula and in this post I want to share with you the recipe.

First of all keep in mind that this is an heavy eye cream meant to DEEPLY hydrate skin so  it's preferable to use for the night-time regime, even if sometimes I use it in the mornings, in this case be sure to wait 15-20 min to allow you cream to penetrate.

The recipe

for 30 ml

  • 10 ml of castor oil
  • 7 ml avocado butter (feel free to use shea butter instead)
  • 4 ml murumuru butter
  • 6 ml bee wax
  • 7 ml of water (I opted for cucumber extract)

On a double boiler melt oils/butters/wax together then add your water that has been warmed up. Stir well with a spoon and don't stop mixing your eye cream for 5-10 minutes until the mixture is cooled down.

Et voilà, your eye cream is done!

An easy peasy skin care essential for cold days! Hope you like it as much as I do.

G.
