Ripping your own jeans is so easy to do and great if you want to upgrade/degrade you old jeans that have been just chilling at the back of the wardrobe. It only takes a few easy steps and a bit of your time :)

What you will need :

  • Scissors.
  • Razor.
  • Tweezers (you can also use your fingers but it will take a lot longer and more of a struggle).
  • Pair of unloved jeans.
  • Cup of coffee cause shits about to get tedious.

Step 1 : First you need to put your jeans on and mark (with chalk or something that can be removed) where you want the rips to be. Then get your scissors and cut a horizontal slit.

Step 2 : Next you need to get the razor and "shave" the edges of where you cut to give it a depreciated look.Screen Shot 2016-03-23 at 18.44.49

Step 3 : Make another horizontal cut about half an inch below the first cut and do the same thing again with the razor.

Then get the tweezers and pull out the vertical threads of the jeans.

Keep going until you've pulled all the vertical threads .

Step 4 : Next pull  some horizontal threads loose on other cuts you've made in the jeans.

Repeat these steps where ever you want a rip in your jeans. You can just do the knees or you can go for several rips and slits in both legs. You can also apply these techniques to other denim things like shorts or denim jacket :) Hopefully you found this helpful and don't forget to leave a comment if you have any questions or thoughts ! – Chloe x
