Can you imagine how silly, and dangerous, it would be for a pilot to never look at the emergency procedures for his airplane.  He could be flying along, an emergency arise, and he would have no idea how to handle it.  It would seem ridiculous for him to have an a total engine failure and then reach of the flight manual and see what it might have to say about the problem he was experiencing.  He needs to know every emergency situation in the manual and the recommended procedures that should be followed.

In life, this is what many do.  No thought is given until the emergency happens.  For every one of us, one thing is certain.  A day will come when we will die.  If we wait for that day before considering our options, we will be greatly disappointed.  Hebrews 9:27 says, “Everyone has to die once, then face the consequences.” (The Message)  Romans 10:9 tells us how to prepare.  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (KJV)
