We all know the saying ‘fake it till you make it’ don’t we? It’s something we do in our lives everyday isn’t it? I know for me it is. I may be the only person on the planet who does this but often I ‘fake it’ till I ‘make it’. It’s a common enough concept. We hear about it all the time. But do we realise how drastically it affects us? I think it is time for me to be honest with you, I HAVE BEEN FAKING IT. With Church and my faith. All the time? Never. Just recently I have caught myself faking it, doing what other people are doing, like the saying the lights are on but nobody is home. I realized that instead of being honest with Jesus and letting Him work I decided I could do life by myself like taking a bath before taking a shower so to speak. I have been a Christian long enough to know when to raise my hands and what prayers to pray for what people. But here is the honest truth: CHRISTIANITY WITHOUT CHRIST IS BORING, EMPTY AND NOT WORTH PURSUING. I want to tell you that this is an easy thing to avoid doing but honestly, it’s not. It’s something the message Bible talks about often! Smoke – it talks about everything being smoke compared to Jesus and we have to be so careful not to put up these smoke screens, you may be fooling people but you are killing yourself. You have to be intentional. Princess, you have to be intentional – when you do something make sure you know why you are doing it. During this time I have been amazed at Grace, God has still used me to carry His encounter presence and He has still allowed His presence to move through me in ministry. But here is what really gets me thinking: IF HE MOVES LIKE THIS WHEN I AM SIMPLY GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS IMAGINE HOW MUCH MORE HE COULD HAVE DONE AND COULD DO IF I WAS PLUGGED INTO HIS SPIRIT AND AWARE OF WHAT HE HAS GIVEN ME TO CARRY. So Princess, be aware and be intentional. Don’t make my mistakes of allowing yourself to get caught in the place of complacency settling for the mediocre when God has so much more in store for you!
