If there's one thing that I've learned in life it's that there is nothing more important than family time. Every single minute I get to spend with my girls are precious; it's these bonding moments that bring us closer.

When I look back over my life I realize that it's the little things that mean the most. Hiking in the woods together, road trips, and singing in the car out loud and off key have been some of my fondest memories with my children. That time we rafted down the Delaware River or ate our way through Manhattan, are the special memories and moments that make us a family.

The first trip that I toke with my girls after getting separated with my husband, and that wasn't going to be regimented by my ex-boyfriend, was a trip to the big apple. We had decided that we were winging it and bought  one-way tickets to New York: no plans, and no place to stay, just us on the road with lots of memories to make!

This is what life is about. We learned to fly by the seat of our pants, we slept in the basement of a friends house and learned to take the subway and eat on the run. My girls watched their mom be really happy for the first time in years and be her true self around her friends and family.

These are lessons that they will take with them through life, and are memories that will last forever.

Last year was the first time that we didn't go vacation during the summer. With all the work that had to be done on our new house, I just wasn't able to  pull it off and we were all vert disappointed, to say the least. So this year, I knew that somehow we'd make a way and true to his form, God did. My client gave us her house in North Carolina for us to use and I cannot wait to make some new memories there with my daughters.

I am sure that the road trip alone will be a trip in itself! We all love the mountains, nature, hiking, the outdoors and being together. No television, computers, cell phones, and other distractions. Just us, nature , and talking...imagine that? Just talking to each other.

Yes, this will be another family vacation for the record books and I cannot wait.

So today my friends, remember that life is short. Live life now, your kids are growing fast and will soon have a life of their own. Make the memories count, laugh often, live big, love large and make as many memories as possible!
