For July 4th, my family usually has a cook out with friends that lasts from day to night. I wanted to merge the shine and shimmer of a glam night look, but make it day gathering compatible. Unfortunately no red, white, and blue themed eyes as it may give my conservative Chinese family a heart attack. So, I stuck with the brown and nude eyeshadow theme to match a brown toned dress. So here is my day to night look for a July 4th cookout.

Sunscreen: Aveeno Protect + Hydrate SPF 50

Primer: Nivea Men Post Shave Balm - Sensitive

Concealer: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - Light
Opted for a concealer again instead of a full face of foundation because with the heat my forehead gets super sweaty, which equals foundation melting off. So, just some dabs of concealer in trouble spots.

Highlight: Colourpop Super Shock Cheek - Wisp
I have been loving this highlighter. Super buttery and creamy on your skin, doesn't cake up if I set my face with a powder. I am a more recent highlight convert, so I haven't been paying the big bucks for highlighters, but this one is high quality and affordable. I'll post a more in depth Colourpop review later.

Contour: Maybelline Fit Me foundation stick - Toffee
Yes this is a foundation stick rather than something specified for contouring, but having it in stick form makes it super easy to define certain areas. I chose a darker shade than my skin tone and blend out with my Real Techniques Contour brush from the Core Collection.

Eyeshadow Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion - Original

Eyeshadow: Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette - Cherry Cordial, Champagne Truffle & L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow single - Iced Latte
Cherry Cordial ended up much more brown than I expected and was a bit streaker than I've experienced with other shadows in the Chocolate Bar palette, but still workable. I applied it to the crease and corners of my eyes. Then I went in and brightened the center of my eyes with Champagne Truffle, which gave a beautiful sheen but wasn't as opaque as I wanted. I wanted glam, punch-you-in-the-face shine. So, I applied Iced Latte to the very center of my lid with my finger and blended it out.

Eyeliner: Colourpop Creme Gel Color - Swerve
I'll also do a more in depth review on this gel liner too. I would just say: Work fast. It sets and dries to a transfer proof finish pretty quickly, meaning you can't blend anymore after it sets. So if you're new to gel liners or applying it with a brush, I would start with an easier to work with liner.

Mascara: L'Oreal Double Extend mascara - Black
Sticking with my holy grail mascara! Applied a thick layer tot the top lashes and a faint layer to my sparse lower lashes. I don't like to over line my eyes as they're already pretty narrow, so I use mascara on my bottom lashes to get a shadow of a line and definition there.

Lipstick: Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme - Loved
I did a bigger review on these and Loved is becoming one of my favorite warmer toned nude lipsticks. If you are going day to night in this lipstick, definitely carry it with you as food and water will make it fade pretty fast.
