Game Development?

Is it really a fun way to make money and earn a living? These are some questions I hope to answer for myself over the next few months as I make my way to (Hopefully) becoming a games developer myself.

I've just finished University and am now waiting to get my final grade and do my graduation ceremony, then I'm off to the big bad world of finding a decent job I will enjoy for the rest of my life. I studied Computer Games Development (Indie) this is why I hope to be able to find out what it's really like to work in the world of games development. The only problem with this is that it is almost impossible to get into the industry unless you have connections and experience, this is why I am taking an alternative route into the industry.

Having studied the Indie side of games development I plan on making my own company, luckily I will not be doing this alone, I've always lived by "It's not what you do in life, but who you meet." I was very lucky to meet some of the best humans I could have the honor to meet at university and among those is one who can considerably help us with funding which is the only part that was stopping any of us at trying first. Now 9 of us plan to start our own company and make some waves in the industry and become a great indie company. If I ever achieve this I will come back to this article and I will answer that question and I hope to be able to help some people make their mind up whether this is the sort of job for them.
