Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

God Himself tells us that He does not change (Malachi 3:6) and will always do what He says He will do (Numbers 23:19).

"I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’” Malachi 3:6-7

With the world’s attention focused on the presidential election, some attention must be devoted to the problems we will continue to face the day after the election, regardless of who is elected. God is concerned for America.  He is concerned about the oppressed, rampant immorality, the family, the widows and the fatherless. As a Christian, are you as concerned about America? Concern about the spiritual direction of our nation?

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Several years ago, the Lord spoke into my spirit that we are living in the days of Noah as a reference to how we are living today.  If you are not familiar with the story of Noah, the flood and people eating, drinking, and giving in marriage, while indifferent to God. The people were lazy about the things of God. Spiritual indifference is a sin.

“Today, people eating, drinking, giving in marriage, there’s nothing wrong with those things, nothing, there just normal everyday activities, right?” said Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of world-renowned Pastor Billy Graham at a Watchmen on the Wall conference in 2015. “Except when they’re all done with no acknowledgment of God at all – complete indifference to God.”

As I ponder today’s election and what many are expecting to come afterwards these thoughts came to my mind.

After Election Day!

The 2016 Election has taken a toll on America with its offensive rhetoric and many wish it would be over soon.  I have the same sentiments as many others. It’s not the election, but what happens after it, that we should all be concerned about. How will the world be affected after the election?  What will the Church do?

As I see the comments on Facebook, and other social media sites. I sense an “indifference to God,” APATHY! "Apathy is an attitude of indifference & unconcern toward spiritual things.  It generally ignores spiritual matters in order to place a greater emphasis on material things."

A spiritual indifference (insensitivity) towards God and His Word, yet He is the same God, yesterday, today and forevermore. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,” Hebrews 12:1

We have a tendency to look superficially at what is going on in the world today as long as we feel we are not affected by it.

Many articles have been written on the condition of the church and the need for spiritual awakening. The children of Issachar were given understanding of the times they lived in so that they would know what to do.  We must discern the signs of the time.  “from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do--200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command;” 1 Chronicles 12:32

We have a Divine opportunity. God is calling His people even closer to Him than ever before, to come up higher. The children of Issachar …

I believe that God is testing the heart of His Church during these elections.  The Lord said in Jeremiah 17:9-10, " The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve."

A prudent servant will rule over a disgraceful son and will share the inheritance as one of the family. The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart. A wicked person listens to deceitful lips; a liar pays attention to a destructive tongue. Whoever mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker; whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.

Many are hoping that things we calm down and return to normal following the elections.  That whomever wins will be able to bring the country together again. The winner of the election has the opportunity to shape the future of our country. What does this mean for the Church?

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; John 11:25

Are we representing Jesus to the world?

The world doesn’t know us because they do not know Him.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1

May God Bless America!
