In John 14:12 Jesus makes an astounding statement when talking to Philip. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” (KJV)

Think about it for a minute.  While Jesus walked the earth He healed every sick person that came to Him, He cast out demons from every person who came to Him for deliverance, He even raised the dead.  This by itself is almost too much for me to comprehend.  He must have seen thousands of people jumping up and down from the joy of being made whole.

But what does Jesus say about these things that He did.  He said that “He that believeth on me” will do even greater things.  What could possibly be greater than those things that I have just listed.

Believers today are ‘those that believeth Him’.  That means we are commissioned to do these greater things, but we can only do them if we take that first step.  We have to pray for the sick to be healed and the dead to be raised, then we need to expect those things to happen.
