Green Chef is a food delivery service that you get delivered each week to your home. They have many different plans and meal preferences to choose from. My Husband and I went with the paleo plan for 2 people, 3 meals for the week. You can also do a 4 person plan and you can request more than one box a week. I'll break down their pricing plan.

2 Person Plan (3 meals a week = 1 box)

  1. Carnivore Plan = $90 a week
  2. Gluten Free Plan = $90 a week
  3. Vegan Plan = $81 a week
  4. Paleo Plan = $100 a week
  5. Vegetarian Plan = $72 a week
  6. Omnivore Plan = $80 a week

Family Plan Serves 4 ( 2 meals = 1 box)

  1. Carnivore Plan =$113 a week
  2. Omnivore Plan = $105 a week

This is a fairly expensive service in my mind because I spend $100-$200 on groceries a month.  I could easily leave out the ingredients that I do not want and make them cheaper.

The Packaging was fairly good, the meat was cold and surrounded by ice packs, but not frozen. Most of the ingredients were separated by meal and all of it was surrounded in a big box with a thick material to keep it from getting damage and keep it cold.

Every recipe came with a sheet of paper showing you which ingredients you would need and step by step instructions. The instructions were fairly simple to follow and all 3 of them had 8 steps. Everything was already measured out and ready to put in the pan, it was like an episode of 30-minute meals lol. I was impressed with 2 of the 3 recipes. The first recipe my Husband and I tried was the shrimp fried rice.  I loved the shrimp fried "rice" it was so delicious, also the rice was shredded cauliflower, which I thought was such a great idea to cut back on carb intake. My husband loved the sauce so much he wanted to put it on everything, it was called coconut aminos with garlic & ginger and let me tell you it smelled so good and tasted even better. The back of the card had 8 steps with easy to follow instructions on how to prepare the ingredients and make such a delicious meal.

Now the Herb-roasted Chicken is another story. I HATED it so much I stopped half way through and went to Whataburger to get something to eat.The seasoning was good, the ingredients smelled great. All together awful, just awful. The Meal had oranges in it, I love oranges, but this was the end of it for me. Most people have eaten an orange and love it, now imagine bite size pieces soaked in beet juice. Yeah, I was done after the first piece of orange. I think maybe without the oranges it would have been better, but the beets were also way too strong. All around this recipe was just one big train wreck in flavor to me.

Lastly was the Maple BBQ Meatloaf, It shows sweet potatoes on the card, but they gave us regular potatoes instead, even the bag was labeled sweet potatoes. This one was pretty good, the meatloaf was a little spicy, but not overbearing. The veggies were crisp and delicious. The Instructions were fairly easy to follow and it was overall a quick dish to make. The Entire dish was delicious and so simple.

This is a great service for people who want to try out new foods. I think in the future ill try this service again. My Main thing is For $80, I only liked 2 of the recipes and threw out 1. I do not think it is worth the cost, but that is just me. I also wonder if you can make these meals cheaper than what they are charging.
