'Seventeen-year-old Serendipity "Pity" Jones inherited two things from her mother: a pair of six shooters and perfect aim. She's been offered a life of fame and fortune in Cessation, a glittering city where lawlessness is a way of life. But the price she pays for her freedom may be too great.'

I really enjoyed this book.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this book when I went into it, truthfully, I didn't think I would like it. It was a bit slow at the beginning but I kept reading, and I am so thankful that I did because once the speed picked up, I couldn't put it down.

I loved getting to follow Pity as she experienced all of these new, frightening situations. Seeing her develop friendships and confidence as she discovered who she was and found her place, made for a really enjoyable reading experience.

This book had an amazing array of characters to meet and fall in love with. Each character was unique and had their own purpose to the story being told. I loved getting to chip away at what made these characters who they were and get to see who they could be.

The concept of this story was really interesting. I also loved that there were familiar elements in an unfamiliar world. This mix of similar and different made it easier to get comfortable with the story and the characters without having to worry about the unfamiliar setting.

Lyndsay Ely did a wonderful job with this book. The characters, the story and the writing were all amazing and when these elements paired together so perfectly, it was hard not to have a great time reading this book.

Gunslinger Girl by Lyndsay Ely is a surprising book that will take you on a wild journey.
