First let me tell you that I have been in a serious slump for over a month and I was really starting to think I’d never read again but this book got me out of it… I read it in less than 24 hours.

I’ve never done this before but I decided to keep notes on my feelings whilst reading this, I had a lot of mixed feeling whilst reading this, not about the book but about the story. So we have our main character Albus, which is Harry and Ginny’s second born. We see Albus go through his first few years at Hogwarts through out the book. The first note I wrote to myself was during Act One, Scene 9 and I wrote:

“Not a fan of Harry right now, didn’t seem very like Harry to say something like that to Albus.” – I want to keep this spoiler free but up until the end of the book, I really wasn’t a fan of Harry, he wasn’t being a very nice person especially to Albus.

We then go on to meet Scorpius Malfoy, who was no doubt my favourite character within this book. He was nothing like Draco was when he was Scorpius’ age, he was very caring and a really good friend to Albus. What I loved about this book is that it wasn’t just focused on Albus, a lot of it was focused on Scorpius.

Act Two, Scene 7… I wrote: “Reading a book like this is slightly strange but I feel like I’m getting through it quite quickly. I’m enjoying the characters quite a bit and I can see resemblance of the old three in the new gang.”

At this point we meet Delphi, who at the time I thought really made herself, Scorpius and Albus resemble Hermione, Ron and Harry. I was wrong.

The next thing that really got to me was Act Two, Scene Thirteen and it was that it really made me chuckle because of the pure sass with Draco.

Draco- Keep up, old man.

Harry- We’re the same age, Draco

Draco- I wear it better.

The last thing I wrote was that when I reached page 320, I had tears in my eyes. Of course over all I gave this book 5/5 stars, I wish I had more to read but I was generally really content with the story and ending.

This got quite lengthy but I hope you have a lovely evening. Kira x
