V Festival

One the UK's most popular summer festivals is the V Festival, which is hosted on the last weekend of August and held over two sites: Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border. This year’s headliners included Jay Z and Pink, and Rudimental, Stormzy, Ellie Goulding and many, much more also appeared. You can choose to buy one-day tickets or weekend camping tickets or stay at serviced apartments in Birmingham.

Midland Forest Live

Although this event is more of a combination of outdoor concerts rather than a festival, it’s staged in the amazing woodland setting at Cannock Chase Forest in Staffordshire during July. This year’s headliners included the legendary Tom Jones, plus guests, and Rick Astley with the famous band Elbow kicking off the celebrations on the first night. Tickets are very reasonably priced at under £50 for each night-time performance.

Beyond The Tracks Rock Festival

The first day of a three-day rock festival, it’s held on the huge patch of greenery close to Millennium Point, Eastside Park and the site of the future HS2 station. The event takes place over a weekend in September, and up to 10,000 people can enjoy all the benefits of an outdoor festival. Big name artists included in the Line-Up range from Orbital, The Jesus and Mary Chain Faithless DJ Set, The Sandinistas and Leftfield. Tickets can only be bought for individual days, and there is a 10.30pm curfew on each of the nights, so you can rest up in No.8 Waterloo Street apartments and get ready for the next day's fun.

This list is by no means exhaustive, as some of the others include Just So Festival, Moseley Folk Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival and Sunshine Music Festival, so there's plenty of live music to suit everyone's tastes. Start planning which ones to go to and where you're going to stay and enjoy some great entertainment with a wonderful atmosphere.
