The Plastic Injection Molding Process

The molding process is actually not difficult to understand. Once the mold is ready, the thermoplastic granules are fed into the heated barrel where they will melt into a liquid. This liquid is then guided through the nozzle of the injection molding machine into the cavity of the mold. This nozzle fills the mold with liquid plastic all the while taking its shape.

The molten plastic them cools very fast and becomes solid in a matter of seconds. The mold will open and ejects the newly formed product. This process will repeat until the quantity requirements are fulfilled.
