I’m a huge online shopper. I rather do my shopping online than go to the store. Who has time to carry all those heavy bags around the mall and back home on the train? Not Me! So if I can buy it online then I will. However, I soon learned that there are shopping rebate sites that will refund you a portion of what you spend and the more shopping you do online the more money you’ll get back.

Cash back sites are a great way to earn money back on your purchases. Since I do a lot of online shopping, I love looking for new ways to earn money while spending money. All of the cash back sites I am about to suggest are free to use. They make a small commission of each purchase you make via using their direct link. The rest of the portion of the money goes back to you.

Ebates: What is Ebates?

Ebates is an online cash back shopping company that provides you with coupon codes and cashback every time you shop. Ebates is affiliated with over 1,000 online stores and earns a small commission for referring people to shop through their website. So basically you browse from the listed stores associated with Ebates then place the order. It’s important to stay within the redirected window tab until you’re done with you order, so Ebates can track your purchase.

Ebates offers up to 25% cash back at more than 1,200 online stores. Search the site to find your favorite store, and then click the “Shop Now” link to make your purchase. Your earnings will show up in your account within 48 hours. Your payment will be sent to you each quarter. Based on your account earnings of $5.00 or more, there are 3 options to redeeming your earnings: a check, PayPal, or gift card.

There’s a holding period to make sure you don’t return your items. For example, Amazon doesn’t offer cash back on every item on Ebates while certain categories that change monthly are eligible for cash back.

You can download the Ebates web browser instead of going to their website to shop (which you may forget to do). Whenever a shopping site that is affiliated with Ebates is open on your browser, an Ebates notification will pop up in the corner notifying the percentage of your cash back. However, you can’t use Ebates for in-store purchase as it is only for online shopping use. But you can choose to buy online and then pick your purchase in-store if that works better for you.

Ebates is free and easy to use. It also has a great incentive program that allows you to earn $5 on every referral that signs up with Ebates using your personalized referral code. If you sign up using my code (http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=sSvzhcAD4PvtMPS5oepcYQ%3D%3D&eeid=28187)  I will earn $5. It doesn’t affect you in any way but I wanted to be honest. Once you create your Ebates account you can share your code and earn $5 as well. I wrote this review to share a quick tip on how to save money buying purchases you may need. I’m a huge fan of Ebates and want everyone to start saving. People may not know about it or may be scared and thinks it’s a scam. Shop for things you’ll normally buy and get paid for it. Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

Cash back Credit cards/Debit Cards:

Disclaimer, if you’re not able to pay off your credit card each month, this option isn’t or you. You’ll just be adding more debt with interest. But for those who can handle this, for every dollar that is spent you earn 1 point. It takes 100 points to equal $1. It might not seem like a whole lot but it can be quite the payday when you put everything on your card. There may be times when your credit card company offers you triple or double points on certain items (gas, groceries, or traveling). Just make sure to pay off your balance in full at the end of every month. Check with your credit and debit card company and see their cash back options.
