Hi everyone,

When it comes to working out we first think of sacrifice or hard work (or maybe I'm the only one). It is hard to have a "positive thinking" that take care of our body is, not because we hate it but because we L O V E it !!

To be honest, at first, I didn't want to make "extra time" for myself, it was too much to ask until I understood that is for my own good, specially over time I do want to be a happy and healthy old lady.

One of the persons I admire the most is my mom, she is 61 years old and she still plays tennis and is in better shape than most of my 20-something year old friends.

So don't push yourself to anything you don't feel comfortable doing. Our body is wiser than we think and will tell you how mucho they can do (at the moment) because our body is amazing and can do amazing things!

If you are a beginner and have decided to start a healthier life, congratulations! You just made the biggest and hardest step = accepting you need to take care of yourself.

It is very important to acknowledge the reality of your body:

  • If you are over weight: start by just walking 10 minutes per day, do not push your knees and ankles to an injury. It might sound like it is not enough but trust me constancy and persistence is the key to a succesful long-term change. Add 5 minutes per week (depends on how you are feeling).
  • If you are under weight: start by walking with light weights for 15 to 20 minutes. It is important to focus on building a strong body, so don't be afraid on having a healthy 2,000 calories per day diet.

Stretching out in the mornings is a good way of waking up your complete body, remember it has been in bed for at least 8 hours.

My week days are usually very busy so I prepare my clothes, bag and everything I need to hit the gym right after work so I don't get the chance to get back home and second doubt or get the lazy-bed syndrome (if I touch my bed I might not get up in a while haha).

So if you are thinking of doing something start by just taking a walk, it is a great start!

You can try a different activity on the weekends, like playing a sport or a hike with friends.

Try to have fun and always remember you are doing it because is good for you!

Let me know what you do to keep your game on point.
