When I was in public school we often played games like Red Rover and tackle football.  In any of these games where brute force was an advantage, as compared to skill, the team selection always followed the same pattern.  The first person choosing always chose Wayne.  He was a nice guy, but he was probably two years older than the rest of us, quite a bit bigger and had no qualms about making others lose.  He enjoyed seeing people jump out of his way.  As a result the team with Wayne always had the advantage.

Psalms 118:6 tells us, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” (KJV)  In those schoolyard games, Wayne was the deciding factor.  In life, the LORD is the deciding factor.  If He is on my side, I have no reason to fear.  The best part is, I get to choose who is on my side, and I choose Him.  When I choose Him, He readily comes to my side.  With Him beside me, man can do nothing against me that is of any consequence.
