The word of God says,

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,

Philippians 1:3-10

who wrote this? Paul, a great teacher of the word after the death of Jesus. Paul, formally known as Saul, was once a fervent prosecutor of the Lord's disciples until he had a personal encounter with God, you can read about it in Acts 9:1-19. After his encounter he went around preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, event till the point he was put in prison, this is one of the letters he wrote.

God helped me to see that he will never leave me alone. He will never leave his children deserted or abandoned. In the good times he will be there to rejoice with us and in the bad times he will be there to see us through our troubles.

God does not and will not leave his people helpless or directionless because 'he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus'. I felt so encouraged reading this because I saw evidence that God could not desert me. If he did, then how could he complete the work which he said he would carry out in me? So, in times where it feels like God has left us, remember that he can't leave us. So start to look for him, because he is there, it's just we have blocked him out with all our worries and thoughts. If we look out for him, in prayer, through reading his word, we will find that his encouragement is there waiting for us.

The beautiful thing we must remember is God has a plan for us. One that he wants to see through to completion. If we let him into our hearts, by saying no to thoughts and ideas that try to convince you that he has left you, we will experience his presence and confidently walk in the promises he has given us.

My prayer is that you will find clarity and truth in God's word when the world and those around you are fuelling your confusion. I pray that you will remember that the good work God has started by creating your life, is one that he wants to finish and will finish as you learn to rely on him and trust in his word. In Jesus' name. Amen.
