Independence Day, the Elite, and It's what's for Dinner

In early days of what grew to be this wondrous land of liberty, whose founding fathers—God rest their soul—found this nation on a profundity: The equality of all men. As evidence, I present the following excerpt from the exalted document inspired by Freedom herself, The Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men [sic] are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator [a.k.a. The God of Abraham] with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…

On that first and glorious Independence Day, these fearless defiers of the British Crown agreed in whole, and with Divine blessing, that from this point forth, on these very blood-red, white elite, and dolefully-blue shores, all men equal.

And so it came to be.

Well, at least in a somewhat abridged sense of "all men,” it came to be.

Even the most dozing reader will have noted the glaring omission of the opposite sex, women; after all, they aren't men…most of them anyway. And too, although they didn't explicitly herein make mention, the intention is clear they never intended to include blacks or any color, poor, or that of the damn annoying native occupier.

Only "men," and white property owning men alone, were worthy God's blessings of Life, Liberty, and Happiness, to hell with everyone else.

The years dragged on, and although the founding fathers had long retired to their heavenly realm, their lofty mentality survived the times, the spirit flourishing at the height of slavery when only a handful of whites and pretty much all blacks opposed slavery. But slavery was the way of the day and blessed by God—by god.[1] Even among the ordinary whites who may have considered themselves sympathetic, the Negro deserved no better. How ludicrous the very thought, they thought, and off to church they went.

Today is hardly any different.

The point being throughout history self-entitled circles harbored no afterthought excluding others the same considerations they lavished on themselves. As the founding fathers felt, the slave masters mimicked and profited handsomely with no hint of guilt to burden their God-fearing soul. And just as the preponderance of Christian white held no other consideration for blacks than that of dirt beneath their feet, the contemporary wears the same dearth of concern for the most oppressed, the most enslaved, and most tortured of beings on earth by denying them their Rights of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

I'm talking of course about what many call animals but whom I call friends. And too many give my friends no more consideration than the sadistic slave master did his "misbehaving nigger" strapped to the whipping post. Far less, I'd say.

There are plenty of incentives and piles of money backing this lack of consideration, all selfish. And they run deep in the millennia of the elite's, religious, propagandist conditioning. But the most exasperating comes straight from the gut of people whose pleasures of taste justify any immorality, no matter how diabolical.

I cannot say how often I've heard, "Meat taste good." And that by its self is the exonerating justification shown me for eating my buddies.

They taste good. That's it, nothing more.

Which brings me to; 'It's What's for Dinner.'

This temperament of gluttony is such as to kill any hope of sensibility, slay any thought of compassion, whether starving or just looking for a snack.

As such it could well have been and had it been, we would not to this day give it a second's thought that… 

...If during the heydays of American slavery, it was as it were to buy, sell, and raise slaves for menial tasks, hard labor, and legal rape of child and adult. But too, if it were to breed blacks for their hair, hide, and flesh for the production of such commodities as hot dogs, tenderloins, rump roast, fanny packs, flip-flops, and ass-less chaps, then to this very goddamned day they'd be genetically modifying, fattening, caging, slaughtering and butchering black folks by the billions each year. They'd package their flesh and innards in convenient carry size Styrofoam and cellophane wrapped containers bar coded, and stacked neatly in visually inviting open refrigerated boxes in the climate comfort aisles of their favorite fucking food store, promoted under the government subsidized marketing campaign of, "N*, It's What's for Dinner."[2]

And for the kiddos, they'd make sweet and colorful gummy bears from the scraps of foreskins and scrotums, clitorises, bones, and cartilage.

"Aha, look here honey buns, an excellent cut off a young black buck if I ever did see."

"And fed only the highest quality feed, dear. See the USDA mark of approval?"

"What do you say we pick up a couple of them thighs and ribs for our Independence Day Bar-B-Q, my precious blooming buttercup?"

"Why I think that would be just dandy delicious, my growing hunk of a man."

"Don't forget the marinade, my tweedy plump. Oh, yeah, and a couple of gallon jars of pickled feet, you know how the young'ens just love suckin' meat off the toe bones."

…That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
