It is a basic human need to feel valued and understood. When someone shows an interest in us we become interested in them. Be aware of the motivation behind the interest. Not everyone is genuine. What is the focus? Be alert and consider why others are interested in you? Listen to your gut. Is this person acting out of genuine concern or are they motivated by self-interest? An important part of maintaining relationships is showing genuine interest. We can use interest to motivate. We can build relationships up with interest. Ask questions. Listen and give someone some of your time.
