It's Not Hoarding

If It's Makeup.

My favorite time of the month has come around! That stretch of three days where I'm checking my email like a psycho and badgering the mail lady. That's right! Ipsy is here! I had gone to the mailbox on a quick pitstop at my apartment. Low and behold: the shiny pink package gleamed at me as I unlocked the tiny metal door.

For those of you who don't have Ipsy, let me take this time to explain it to you and all of it's joyous wonders. Ipsy is a monthly subscription for cosmetics! For $10 a month, a newly designed makeup bag is delivered right to you full of goodies! Each month, Ipsy sends a range of designer cosmetics, as well as some up and coming products and brands! So basically, you get five items in a cute makeup bag, for $10 every month! You also have the ability to tailor what's sent to you by reviewing your glam bags on their website! Basically, Ipsy is Christmas once a month for makeup artists and enthusiasts!

Take a look at the January 2017 Glam Bag!

This month was packed full of a variety of items! And, I've been meaning to review my Ipsy bags - a  year later, and I'm finally doing it! I can get pretty animated, but please remember - it's all in jest.

F.U.N Lacquer in "TGIF"

I can tell you that I was immediately put off by the product because it did not come named. That's right, no shade name anywhere. So I had to go to their website and scour their stock to find the polish name. But, aside from my crabiness, I really like this product. It's a gorgeous color - "TGIF is a gorgeous gold holographic polish with gold & copper shimmer," as described by their website.

Shashbox Camera Ready BB Cream

So, for starters, I already won't use this product because of the brand. No, I'm not a snob. I just don't like to use products that aren't cruelty-free. According to multiple Cruelty-Free Brand lists, Smashbox cannot be categorized as such. The Smashbox website claims otherwise, so more digging will have to be done. I've been a vegetarian for a decade, so I aim to use brands that don't test on animals. This product gets four stars on Google Shopping, and has been raved about on YouTube.com.

Manna Kadar Beauty 3 in 1 Eyeshadow in "Fantasy"

One of my favorite items this month was the Manna Kadar Eyeshadow in "Fantasy." This product came highly recommended from other artists in the Phoenix area. When swatched, the blush-tone shadow reflects gold - absolutely stunning. The product is "3 in 1" meaning it can be used on your eyes, as blush and highlight!

Crown Brush C405 Contour Blush Brush

This is a product I enjoyed by a brand I can truly stand by! The C405 is an angled brush perfect for the contours of your face. The lightweight brush is also extremely fluffy, so its also a good tool for applying blush, as well as highlight. This item can be purchased at a discounted price by clicking here.

Loverecipe Acai Berry and Aloe Masks

What a fun product! Unlike the cheapie face masks that you find at the local pharmacy, the Loverecipe brand does it correctly. Not only is the packaging adorable, but the product works. Felipe and I decided to give them a try. We ripped the packages open to find our wet and neatly folded masks. Felipe donned the Acai Berry, and I took the Aloe. At first, we relaxed, used essential oils, and did Oracle Card readings. But then, we enjoyed a few glasses of wine, and had some fun with Snapchat!

It started out cute and fun...

Then it got a little crazy...

Just kidding, it got super creepy, super quickly.

Ipsy was definitely on point with most of their product matches this month! The products also proved quite entertaining when wine got involved. But then again, when is wine not fun?
