True beauty radiates from the in side out.

Have you ever met someone who has gone through a spiritual makeover?

A natural makeover is a complete transformation or remodeling of something, especially a person's hairstyle, makeup, or clothes. But here's the thing - change is great on the outside, but real change comes from the inside out. It’s more than cosmetic. God wants you to be made new from the inside out – spirit, soul, and body.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here!  2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Take Off the Old and Put on the New

"Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and ... put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV)

If you want to have lasting change in your life, you have to put off the old self with its deceitful desires and put on the new self that has been created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. "Put off" is a word picture of taking off a piece of clothing, stripping oneself of a shirt or .. Bottom line is you have to leave your old ways behind.

Where do you begin?

Stop putting negative, hurtful things into your mind, and start watching and listening to things that edify and make you more like Christ. You have to take out the trash!

Ephesians 4:17-19 says, "So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.

We are not to be conformed to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Paul uses the word world here to refer to the spirit of the age. In other words, world refers to the popular worldview that rejects God and His revelation.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worshipDo not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2
