Have you ever wondered what Jesus would have thought about technology or if He would use it.  I suggest to you that Jesus did use technology.  Our word technology comes from two Greek words, ‘techne’ which means a skill or craft and ‘logos’ which means words or how a thought is expressed.  We have taken it to mean using new fangled gadgets, but really it comes from the idea of having a skill or craft in the using of words.

In Luke 8:10 Jesus says, “Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.” (KJV)  Jesus was very careful in His use of words.  He often spoke in parables to better help some to understand the principles He was trying to explain.  By this He was very technologically skilled.  If we want to understand His thoughts we need to study His words.  People’s interpretations of what Jesus said and meant may be useful, but to fully understand we need to read what He said.  The best way to do this is by reading God’s word, the Bible.
