The son of a Colombian mother and Honduran father, Brooklyn-born and mountain-raised Johnathan Fernandez brings his quick witted acting chops to FOX's hit new buddy cop action-comedy television series
"LETHAL WEAPON" (Wednesdays, 8/7 c).
Based on the uber successful film franchise, the hour long show follows Texas cop and former Navy SEAL 'Riggs' (Clayne Crawford) who after losing his wife and baby moves back to Los Angeles to start anew. There, he is partnered up with LAPD Detective 'Roger Murtaugh' (Damon Waynes), who, having recently suffered a "minor" heart attack, must avoid stress in his life. Fernandez plays 'Scorsese,' a dry-toned and creative pathologist with the LAPD who works with 'Riggs' and 'Murtaugh' solving cases. The show, created by Matt Miller ("CHUCK," "THE 100") and directed by McG ("SUPERNATURAL," "THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA") will have its first season finale on March 15th.
Fernandez is no stranger to the silver screen - previously having guest starred on such hit shows as "YOUNGER" and "GIRLS," but improv is where he really developed his talents.
He began doing comedy at Penn State University where he was a founding member of the school's improve group "Full Ammo." After graduation, he moved back to NY and began working in television production and studying improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where he can still be seen regularly on a house sketch team. He full head first into comedy - becoming a regular on late night shows like "THE COLBERT REPORT," "FALLON," "@MIDNIGHT" "THE DAILY SHOW" and "LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER." A true 'Jack-of-all-Trades,' Fernandez's other passion is creating content and hosting. As a TV host, he recently partnered up with Yahoo! for their "MANSOME" series as well as Toyota's official host for the 2017 CES Tech Conference.
In addition to his work on screen, Fernandez's hobbies include listening to metal music, riding his Harley, playing video games, and watching WWE Wrestling and FIFA sports. He also has a keen innate sense for style and enjoys amassing his collection of designer specs. His true passion is the time he spends actively in the community, fighting for civil rights and equality for all human beings. Fernandez resides with his wife in Los Angeles.
