July was a month of loving products which have been in my collection for a while, sprinkled with a handful of new products. As per usual during the summer months, I don’t don my face in makeup. On the occasion which I do have an event which I dress up for, these products have been rocking it this month.

DermaDoctor Kakadu C Cleanser: This product has served a dual purpose for me. It works well as a cleanser, with a high content of vitamin C. It also works well as a makeup remover, and gets off all foundation, powder, liquid lipstick, you name it. I have not used it on my eye makeup, as I’m not sure if it would sting or not and I’m not about to burn my retinas.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: This spot treatment is fantastic. Typically I don’t use a product like this, but it’s great to use on hormonal breakouts. It doesn’t rid your skin completely of blemishes, but it does draw out any impurity from your pores overnight. So basically it cuts down the time those suckers take up space on your face, which I fully support.

ColourPop Highlighter (Lunch Money): This highlighter is the best I’ve ever used. I tap it on with my fingertips and it lasts all day. The color is fantastic, the glow factor is glamorous. I have nothing bad to say about this product.

Essence Lip Liner (Satin Mauve): I hadn’t used Essence lip liners much before now, but this color works well with an array of colors. I especially love it underneath ColourPop Ultra Mattes, as the color lasts all day and prevents my lips from getting dried out.

Urban Decay Naked Palette: The pink tones are what I’ve been working with the most this month, but I love the versatility of this palette. The colors work well together and the pigmentation is such high quality. I even used this palette to do my friend’s makeup for her birthday dinner, and she liked it as well!

L’Oreal Voluminous Primer: I’ve used a number of lash primers in my time, and though I don’t think it’s a necessary step in your makeup routine, the new primer from L’Oreal is fantastic. It’s not clumpy, and it almost gives the effect of wearing false lashes even when I’m not wearing any. If you’ve seen this in the store recently but are on the fence about it, I say give it a try.

Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Cream Bronzer (Warm Tan): I’ve been loving this bronzer because it appears to have a more natural finish than a powder contour. It warms up the face well without being too stark of an orange or brown, especially since I have quite fair skin. It blends in well on top of my foundation, especially when used with the Real Techniques makeup sponge.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder: This is a wonder product. It is so lightweight and sets all makeup very well. The powder doesn’t add any color to my face, and doesn’t make my face look cakey. All thumbs up in my book.

MAC Fix+: LOVE! I’ve used this for a number of reasons: as a primer under foundation, as a setting spray after all face products are applied, and to help apply eyeshadow and really bring out the pigment. That works especially well with the L’Oreal Infalliable Eyeshadow in the shade Amber Rush. I’ve had my questions about how well this product would work, because I assumed it was just water. I do find it to help though, so here we are.
