And the winner is: J.K. Simmons!

That's right!  J.K. Simmons, best known in the comic book movie world as J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films, will play the Gotham City Police Commissioner in the upcoming Justice League: Part One movie.

Not only is this exciting because Simmons is a fantastic actor, but also because it means that the rumors that Jim Gordon is already dead in the DCEU were lies.

Justice League, written by Chris Terrio and directed by Zack Snyder, is expected to start filming in April for a November 2017 release.  Part 2 is slated for a 2019 release.

What do you think about J.K Simmons playing the part of Commissioner Gordon?  Let me know in the comments below!
