‘Keep on truckin’' is a phrase you don't hear much any more.  When I was younger we used it quite often.  It was just an encouraging phrase we would say to someone who was having a difficult time.  It had the idea that if you were in the middle of a tough time to keep your head up and pointing forward and keep on going.  Eventually you will get the other side.

We can also apply it to our spiritual lives.  Things may get difficult and God may seem far off.  Maybe our friends also seem to be distant and we need comfort that we cannot find.  When that happens there are many places to which we can turn for help.  But above all we need to ‘keep on truckin’.

Joshua 1:9 in the Message says, “Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. GOD, your God, is with you every step you take.”  If we ‘keep on truckin’’ with God He will get through those difficult times and bring us out the other side.  He will never leave us as long as we cling to Him.
