2 Timothy 3:13 gives a dire warning.  “But evil people and charlatans will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived themselves.” (NET)  If we take a good look around we can see that those situations were true in his day, have carried on through the ages and are still present with us today.  Those who have bad intentions and are determined to share a false Gospel of Jesus Christ, whether it be greed or just plain evil, will get worse.  Their ways will become more deceptive and convincing.  Some of them will know what they are doing while others will not, but  deception will definitely increase.

How can we possible know how to sift through all that is out there to know which is deception and which is truth?  Psalms 86:11 says, “Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.” (KJV)  We need to let God teach us His way so we can walk in His truth.  How do we do this?  We read the Bible and pray.
