“If you don’t dance, you will wilt.” Was the message that Christina Lim-Carlson said when she met with On Tha Brink last Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Blackprint Volume II.

Christina was born in Hong Kong and moved to the United States when she was fifteen. She has lived in Milpitas ever since. She goes by the name 4orty4, which is the age that she started dancing. Christina owes her new-found love for dancing to Huy Dao aka Aftershock, who also represents the Krump408 movement in San Jose. Aftershock was her first teacher, and he is the person who got her started on her new life journey.

Aftershock is not the only trick up her sleeve. Christina has also taken an SLX seminar from the King of Krump himself, Tighteyez. The SLX seminar consists of a strenuous 3-hour dance workout, for three days. However, Christina explains that since she is a beginner, that he went ahead and taught her at her level.

Christina jokes and says that she prepares for dance by drinking caffeine and talking ibuprofen. “In the next five years it will be duct tape, and it will probably work too.”  Even though Christina jokes about her age, we at On Tha Brink, are very proud of how far she has come, and look forward to see her battle for the second time in her life.
