Over the past few years there has been a major shift happening within the body of Christ. A transition is happening both corporately and individually. Personally, God has been realigning me for my new season.

When shifting seasons, things change in our lives affecting our activities, focus, vision and even relationships. The most challenging part of shifting seasons is letting go of things from our past season. This is where most people get stuck. Human nature gravitates towards the familiar and it’s difficult to leave our comfort zones. But when God is shifting us into a new place there will be things from our past season that won’t be able to go with us into our new season.

When God is moving you to a new place you may have to let people who were once a part of your life go. There will be people who don't understand what God is doing in your life and will walk away because you've changed. In a message series by Bishop T. D. Jakes called “Nothing Just Happens” he said some very powerful words about how to respond when people walk out of our lives. Bishop Jakes called it the "Gift of Goodbye."

Here is a portion of what Bishop Jakes said in his message:

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk.

I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone. When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The Bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. (1 John 2:19)

"They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us." (NIV) 20131228123041_letting-go-is-hard

It might be painful letting go, but it's best for everyone. You cannot move forward looking back at what was or what might have been. Say goodbye and be at peace!

Your destiny is not tied to the people who left you...people leave you because they are not joined to you...know when people's part in your story is over and let them go! If you try to hold on to them, they will only keep you from the place God is taking you. Accept it as the will of God!

Your destiny is waiting!
