In John 8:12 Jesus says, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (KJV)  That means He is also our light.  What kind of light is He to you?

Is He your flashlight that you only take out when there is a storm and the rest of the time He is relegated to sitting on a shelf?  Is He your streetlight that only shines on the well worn path, one that sheds no light when you stray into the woods?  Is He your nightlight that only gives out a little bit of light, not one that is bright enough to illuminate an entire room?  Is He a decorative light, the type that is only used on special occasions, a light whose normal place is in a storage cupboard?  Is He a flashing light, one that shines on and off at random times?

Or is He a 10,000 watt bulb that illuminates everything, no matter where it is placed?  That is what He wants to be in our lives, and that is what He wants us to be to the rest of the world.
