Some winters we see snow, snow and more snow.  There is no shortage of cold weather.  We might get the odd warm spell.  We get lulled into thinking winter may be over, and guess what, old man winter returns to remind us that he will leave when he is good and ready, not when we are ready.  There is nothing we can do to make winter leave.

Sometimes we may have a sin in our life that seems like an extended winter.  No matter what we do, it just doesn’t want to leave.  We may think we have disposed of it for a short time, but then it returns again.  Do you have a sin in your life you wish would disappear?  Don’t be discouraged, there is a solution.

First the sin needs to be confessed to God.  I John 1:9 assures us that “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (KJV)  We also need to realize that we can conquer and escape from the burden of those sins.  Philippians 4:13 confirms this.  “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Don’t let your sins pull you down.  With God’s help, they can be conquered.
