New Years is a time when many ponder their past and look with anticipation to their future.  They look back on their mistakes and make resolutions that will prevent those mistakes from reoccurring.  Almost everyone seems to look upon the new year as a time make a new beginning.

Jeremiah 29:11 in the Message Bible says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”  We need to realize that God does have a plan for each one of us.  He wants to take care of us.  He will never leave us and He wants to give us a future that is in the best of our interest.  We also need to realize that He will not force it upon us.  If we want to step into the plan He has for us we need to read His Word and pray so we can understand His plan.  It may not be the exact plan that we expected, but if God lays it out, we need to understand that His plans will be better than ours.
