Look at the way

her doe eyes

look away

when he’s talking

the way she shies

when he’s around

look at the way

she talks animatedly

when she talks about him

look at the way

her cheeks color

at the sound of his name

how her ears perk up

every word he says

look at the way

she goes out of her way

to buy a perfume

to wear around him

look at the way

she scrawls Mrs.

next to his last name

in her diary

how she hides

his pictures

in a tiny box

she’s printed them

away from prying eyes

look at the way

she tries hacking into

his emails

look at the way

she looks for clues

in his SMS’es

and spends an entire night

sitting up

thinking about him

look at the way

she cries and begs heaven

for him

how her heart aches

for what never has been

and for hopes there will be

Look at the way

love does to her

but he never minded her

to him

she was just another girl
