Day five of the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. Today's subject is a Magnolia. Magnolia's have a special place in my heart. My favorite are the saucer ones with their big creamy white blooms with maroon centers. My Grandma has one in her yard and there's one planted in my Great Grandma's yard. They both always have and had lovely flowers. They are lovely tree's. They bloom in Spring and all throughout Summer. Then after the flowers fade they form seed pods with bright red seeds. They leaves stay dark green year around too, so you always have interest in the yard with them. I look forward to having my own place one day where I can plant some. I will have several scattered across the property.
