Tonight I finally ventured down the road of Gravy!  I have been making this gravy for years for my husband and he just loves it! This is one of those items that can be made very simply, takes just a few minutes with a few ingredients.

White Chicken Gravy


2-TBSP Flour

4-Heaping TBSP AP Flour

Dried Basil

Parsley Flakes

Onion Flakes

Garlic Powder

Chicken Broth

Salt & Pepper to Taste

In a small pot melt butter on the stove, add herbs with salt & pepper, when butter is melted completely add 1 TBSP of flour at a time until it has a thick creamy texture.  Slowly add the chicken broth a little at a time until it becomes a liquid form - stirring continuously - turn the burner down to low and continue stirring occasionally until ready to serve.

Tonight I put it on some mashed potatoes and rotisserie chicken!

And, again all of the ingredients were purchased using our Food Stamps!

After an especially rough week financially it was nice to indulge in some comfort food for sure!
