So now you've created a menu, have some basic items stocked in your home, and have worked on budgeting those valuable food stamp dollars - now comes the time to add spices and make those flavors work together so your meals are just irresistible.

Let's discuss what you'll need

The basics:

Dry Items: Salt - Sea Salt - Pepper - Oregano - Thyme - Basil - Parsley - Paprika - Chili Powder - Cumin - Garlic Powder - Onion Flakes - All Spice - Sage - Red Pepper Flakes - Italian Herbs - and Sugar (Powdered and Granulated)

Wet Items: Olive Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vegetable Oil, White Vinegar and Apple Cider Vinegar

You can combines these to make your own spices for certain flavors - like I make my own Spanish Seasoning using: Chili Powder - Cumin - Garlic Power - and Onion Flakes

Italian Seasoning - Oregano - Thyme - Basil - and Parsley

I make my own marinade for Chicken and Beef Kabobs using: Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Salt - Pepper - Basil - Oregano - Parsley - White Vinegar - simply delicious!

The combinations are endless, just use your imagination and you can make your meals simply irresistible.

It's all a matter of figuring out what your taste preferences are and finding that combination that works well for you!  Then when storing them again use your imagination - here's a shot of my Spice Rack hanging on the wall above my stove:

I chose to place mine over the stove because my counter-top space is limited and putting it on the counter was a no go!

My best advice is to purchase one or two items a week until you have a full collection of spices and herbs in your kitchen!
