You are probably here because the title. Am I right? If I'm right you should totally comment below. Seriously. Do it now I'll wait.

Anyways those words are part of the 3rd and 4th verses of Job chapter 3 NIV version. I have decided to finally, after month of not doing it, write my blog about Job. I thought it would be a good time considering I have been pretty miserable for the last 3 going on 4 weeks and Job was miserable for way more than that. So, this is going to be a series on Job. I'm going to go through the chapters of Job one by one and at the end of each blog I'm going to tell you what I thought of them. Trust me I have some seriously deep thoughts on Job...Deep thoughts...The way people talk about Job and make him out to be really really frustrate me, but you guys will see that later on. Without any further distraction lets get into chapter 1.

Also, I am getting all of my information from the NIV Study Bible, if you do decided to follow along with what I am saying and do decide to comment and create conversation with me, which I really hope you do! You will need a Bible, and I do want you to know what translation I am using. Anyways,

Job Chapter 1

Okay, So Job is from the Land of Uz, Not Oz (haha...laugh at my jokes...). Hes blameless and upright and feared God. (This is where most people get all of there information of Job I feel, and in later blogs you will understand why I say this.) He also shunned evil!

Okay this next part is pertinent information

-7 sons -3 daughters -3,000 camels -500 yolk of oxen -500 donkeys -Large number of servants

He was known as the greats man among all of the people in the east.  Okay, So this guy is like Rich beyond belief he's loaded. I mean 3,000 Camels...Who needs 3,000 camels? Plus, Think about the fact that he has to pay all of his servants, he has to feed all these animals and people, they all have clothing...He's probably like the Bill Gates of Biblical Times.

Then we get to verses 4 and 5 "His sons used to hold fests in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements to be purified....Thinking"Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." This was Job's regular custom."

He was a Godly man, and he was a good father. There was nothing he was doing  wrong at all. His life was completely perfect.

Then verse 6. Satan decides to show up and ask God some questions. This is what blows my mind here. Satan has been wandering the earth, and God literally asks him "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil." I love how God has that much faith in us that he would say that to Satan, He would point us out by name and say well Job or John or Grace is this. I mean he would do that for you for us. It's really beautiful.

Then Satan returns by saying that Job has nothing to fear because God has put a hedge around him and God has blessed him so much and there is nothing that he has to worry about in his life, but if he were to do any harm to him at all he would curse God's name. So, God said "Very well, then, everything he has in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger."

Okay, so at this point some of you are thinking well some God you have there he would allow harm to come to his people. The fact of the matter is though that he trusts Job so much that he knows that he would never curse his name. It's really beautiful.

So remember at the beginning of the Blog I said that there was some really pertinent information to remember? Well it's time to remember.

The first bad thing to happen Verse 14 "A messenger came to Job and said, " The Oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, and the Sabeans attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you.

Second Bad Thing Verse 16 "The fire of God fell from the heavers and burned up the sheep and the servants and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

Third Bad Thing Verse 17 "The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put your servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"

Fourth Bad Thing Verse 18 "Your Sons and daughters were feasting and drinking at the oldest brothers house when suddenly a might wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you.

All of this happened back to back. He just lost everything. Every single thing. Is that not insane. I was just reading a book for class on Tuesday, and it says "God is in charge, but not in Control." That is the same situation here with Job. A lot of time in our lives bad things will happen. Now, I'm not saying it's to the extent of Job here, and it's literally God allowing Satan to test us, but God is in Charge of everything, but he doesn't Control every thing in our lives or we wouldn't have free will.

Now, what does Job do in response to everything terrible that just happened?

He shaved his head, tore his robe and fell on the ground in worship and said this.

"Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."

In all this, Job did not sin by charging God. with wrongdoing.

Isn't it crazy how all that happened? In just a short amount of time that much hurt happened to one man, and were not even close to being done, if you liked or even loved what you read by like this post, please share it on social media with your friends and such! If you have questions or comments please comment below I would love to hear from you and talk with you!
