This, my friends, is a plea for help.

Everyone always says that admitting you have a problem is the first step to finding help. I’m hoping that still applies because I have something to get off my chest.

I, Madison Uram, am a repeat word offender.

Words like “just”, “though”, and “meanwhile” are like drugs to me. I can’t stop using them! I just went through my novel and here’s the unedited tally of each of them:

Just-667

Though-260

Meanwhile-57

Keep in mind, that my novel is currently 102,926 words long… This is also excluding the amount of just-though-meanwhiles that I have already eradicated…

Those aren’t the only words I’ve done this with, though! A couple years ago, I was addicted to the word “briskly”. BRISKLY. It’s an adverb. Adverb are not good!

Ugh.

This has been your daily installment of: Madison has a writing problem.

Stay tuned for more ranting and frustration.
