With the MLS Allstar Game less than a week away, why not take the opportunity to look at some of the top talent the league has the offer? This is the first part of a multi-part installment on the top five players at each position. So, without further ado, let's get into the top 'keeprs in MLS.

1. Andre Blake, Philadelphia Union

In terms of raw talent, no one on this list can top Andre Blake. Since being selected as the number one overall pick in the 2014 MLS Superdraft, Blake has made 47 appearances for his club. He's also the Jamaican number one, having made 22 appearances for his country. At 6'4", he has all the size and length necessary to be a fantastic goalkeeper; so far he's certainly lived up to the hype.

2. Tim Melia, Sporting Kansas City

After a long, journeyman's career through the American soccer pyramid, Melia is having the season of his life. He leads all of MLS in shutouts, with nine, and is top five in the league in saves. Now that SKC has lost forward Dom Dwyer to Orlando City, Melia will be relied on all the more to keep opposing shots out of the net.

3. Tim Howard, Colorado Rapids

There really is not much to be said here. Tim Howard, the greatest American goalie of all time, is still one of the best in the league. While Colorado has been struggling mightily, Howard has been one of the few bright spots. Fresh off a Gold Cup win for the USA, Tim Howard is performing well for both club and country.

4. Bill Hamid, DC United

You could say that it has been a successful year for Hamid. Between earning a recent call up to the United States Men's National Team for the Gold Cup and a successful season for the struggling DC United, Bill Hamid is looking better than ever. Hamid is third in MLS with 74 saves and at only 26, he still has a long career ahead of him.

5. Joe Bendik, Orlando City SC

Since coming over from Toronto FC, Bendik has been consistently steady in front of the net of OCSC. While Orlando has struggled this season, there can has been no fault when it comes to the play of their goalkeeper. he leagues the entire league in saves. Even USMNT Manager Bruce Arena has taken notice, putting Joe Bendik's name on the 40-man preliminary Gold Cup roster back in June.
