For me, this has been one of the worst summers for mosquito bites.  I can walk outside for a total of two minutes to take a few pictures for my blog and by the time I come back inside, 5 new bites.  It's ridiculous and I just need to vent about it.

I have tried many things to make my skin less appealing for these creatures.  I've tried bug spray (the natural kind and the chemical filled kind), citronella candles, eating a lot of bananas (I read once that they won't like your blood as much), and NOTHING helps.  I am powerless against these small insects and it drives me nuts.  If I had a normal reaction to bug bites, maybe it wouldn't bother me as much.  When I get a bug bite, 70% of the time, it's on my legs.  They itch terribly and usually end up coming these large, red, warm, hard, welt-like marks on my legs.  Sometimes I don't want to wear shorts because I don't want people to think I have a weird disease because they look so bad.

To add to the annoyance, let's add a little fear too.  Not only can mosquitoes bite the crap out of you, they can also carry diseases like West Nile, Malaria, and Zika.  As if we don't have enough to worry about, we don't even realize we have so much contact with until afterwards when you discover a bite.  It's just too much for me.  I can't deal.  I'll be covered in anti-itch cream if you need me!
