As a reader who goes through a few hundred books a year picking my top 5 is hard. I had to choose from my most read authors on Goodreads and even though it shows I've read more books by authors not in this list I felt my favourites were not necessarily whose books I'd read more of but whose books I'd enjoyed the most.

1. Nalini Singh

Nalini Singh is my all time favourite - hands down. I can't get enough of her books and I own them all in physical and digital format.
I was lucky enough to meet Nalini Singh this year and she was such a lovely woman.  She signed all my books for me as well which was awesome.

2. Brandon Sanderson

Brandon Sanderson has got a way with words that is incomparable. His world building skills are fantastic and I love his work.  I've got all of his book in physical format and all but 2 of them are signed as I was lucky enough to meet him in October 2015. He gave us a reading of his latest Stormlight Archive book to be released and then signed all of the books we had with us.

3. Sherrilyn Kenyon

Sherrilyn Kenyon is the reason I started reading paranormal romance - without her I wouldn't have delved in the genre at all.  I still remember finding Fantasy Lover on the shelf in Waterstones in '06 and it was the first paranormal romance book I read as a teenager, it's because of her that I read the genre and I can't thank her enough.  I was also lucky enough to meet her many years ago for a signing at a little bookshop called Murder One in London, it's now closed down but they have a small section in the Forbidden Planet London Megastore.

4. Rachel Caine

Rachel Caine was the author of the first "young adult" series I properly read. I found Glass Houses by accident in '06 and ended up falling in love with her writing. I was lucky enough to meet her in October last year at a panel for the web series of the Morganville Vampires series and for a signing so I've got multiple signed books from her also.

5. Kresley Cole

Kresley Cole is the only author on this list that I haven't met yet. I'd love to but I've never found a signing that I could get to.  I fell in love with her Immortals After Dark series and have since fallen for her others works as well.
