Its summer time and people are flying off to different countries left, right and centre. Since I have recently been on a exotic holiday to Mexico, I thought it would be beneficial to see what I pack in my holiday makeup bag. Lets get things straight, I am honestly the worst overpacker there has ever been. I normally find that on the travel day I end up adding about 10 more unnecessary things to my makeup bag in a fit of panic. Now onto the bag.....

The Bag...

My Crappy makeup case is a clear one from Superdrug. I have never seen the point of fancy makeup bags, every time I have brought one I've soon spilt foundation or concealer all over it. This I got the other day and was extremely cheap and cheerful. So if I do manage to ruin it {which most likely I will} it won't be the end of the world.

Base...

holy grail

This is must have for me. I have quite dehydrated skin and that will only get worse in a tropical country.  {you can check out my full review of this here} Therefore, whilst I'm in Mexico I am going to need a primer which is going to be highly nourishing for my skin.

BECCA Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation in the shade 'Fair':

I purchased this foundation quite a while back since I had read such amazing things about it. I ordered the lightest shade 'fair' online, however when I swatched it on my skin it was wayyyyy to dark. In fact it wasn't 'fair' at all. I was rather disappointed.

However, since on holiday I tend to tan fairly quickly so I'm finally going to be able to get some use out of this foundation. When I have tried it it gives a gorgeous dewy finish and really makes your face look radiant. You only need the tinniest amount of product from this foundation {too much makes you look like an oily mess} . It is a very sheer coverage but can be built up to a fuller coverage if you wish. I know this is going to be perfect for me whilst on holiday and I know I will be using the minimal amount. I will most likely post a full review of this product after holiday once I have got lots of use out of it so keep an eye out.

Barry M: Flawless Light Reflecting Concealer in the Shade 'Light':

This concealer is extremely cheap and does a great job of reflecting those dark circles which haunt me on a daily basis. It is easy to apply, buffs and blends into the skin very nicely and also feels extremely light on the skin. Plus it soothes the skin with the addition of cucumber and aloe extract. All around a great drugstore concealer {although the packaging isn't particularly appealing}.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow in the shade 'Fair-Medium':

Only got this a couple of weeks ago. But it is beautiful and completely conivient for going away. I wanted to bring this as it incorporates two items at once and saves me from carrying more than I need {more room for clothes ya know}. The packaging is absolutely beautiful and the powders are so finely milled that they feel so buttery when applied onto the skin. So I'm very excited to get some good use out of this whilst I am away!

The Balm 'Mary-Lou-Manizer':

My friend accidentally smashed my Becca Shimmering Skin perfector in the shade Opal on a night out RIP and I don't have time to do a repair job. So instead I got this out of my collection to use. I do really enjoy this highlighter, I am bringing an extra highlighter as the charlotte tilbury one is a lot more natural and I love a lot of highlight!

Elf Loose Translucent setting powder:

My go to powder, this is going to save me from becoming a sweaty mess. It's also vegan dupe for the Laura Mercier one.

Eyes....

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eyeshadow Palette 'The Golden Goddess':

Again only a recent purchase and I have only used it once but I have fallen in love. I am only bringing one palette on holiday with me, my Z palette is huge and would require me buying a smaller Z palette to fit in my bag {ain't nobody got time for that}. This palette made the cut, with it's gorgeous mixture of golden and bronze shades.

Too Faced 'Better than Sex':

This is my go to Mascara, wouldn't be bringing anything else with me.

Barry M Blink Liquid Liner:

I really like this but it is not the best liquid eyeliner I have used. I am still on the hunt for a better vegan and cruelty free eyeliner if anyone has any recommendations let me know!

Collection Eyebrow Pencil in the Shade 'Blonde':

Never tried this before, ran out of ABH Dipbrow *sobs* so had to panic buy something.

Lips.....

Axiology Lipstick in the shade 'Virtue':

I have already review the Axiology Lipsticks here, but these are amazing. The company is completely natural and organic which is a huge bonus for me. The shade Virtue is essentially a tinted lip balm with an orangey huge. But I thought this would be useful in the hot sun, since my lips are most likely going to dry out. These lipsticks are so moisturising so this is a definite must in Mexico.

Charlotte Tilbury 'Kissing' Lipstick in the shade 'Stoned Rose':

This is a gorgeous nude pink lipstick. It also is highly moisturising. I particularly love this shade on top of a Sleek Matte Liquid lipstick which I am also bring with me.

Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick in the Shade 'Birthday Suit' and Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in the Shade 'Lumiere 2':

The Sleek Lip Cream is not the best liquid lipsticks I have tried, they are very long lasting when you avoid drinking. Maybe not the best choice to bring to a hot country but the colour is so beautiful and looks so lovely with Charlotte Tilbury's 'Stoned Rose' on top.

Colourpop's Lumiere 2 is another recent purchase, I love the colour {I have a feeling it may be a staple in the future...}

I have honestly tried to minimise the amount of makeup I am bringing {with little success}. But honestly I probably will not be wearing much makeup whatsoever only on ~fancy~ evening dinners and or going for drinks.
