With Week 3 in the books let's take a look at the high scores by position for the week. As always I'll use the scoring system from my Yahoo league. Hope you own a lot of these names.


Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers led the way in Week 3 with 30.55 fantasy points. Rodgers threw for just 205 yards, but had 4 touchdowns. Rodgers was sacked twice, but also added 5 rushes for 22 yards.

Trevor Siemian of the Denver Broncos had his best day in his short pro career Sunday. Siemian threw for 4 touchdowns and 312 yards. Siemian was sacked twice and ran the football 3 times for 5 yards. Siemian scored 30.49 fantasy points.

Jameis Winston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored 24.40 fantasy points in Week 3, Winston threw for 405 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Winston was sacked twice and ran the football 4 times for 13 yards and he lost a fumble.

Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints came in 4th for the week with 23.92 fantasy points. Brees threw for 376 yards with 1 interception and he was sacked 2 times. Brees also ran 2 tines fir 9 yards in the game.

Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions rounds out the Top 5 for Week 3. Stafford put up 23.80 fantasy points by throwing for 385 yards with 3 touchdowns and an interception. Stafford was sacked 3 times and ran the football 2 times for 11 yards.

Ryan Fitzpatrick of the New York Jets was the quarterback ho struggled the most in Week 3. Fitzpatrick threw for 188 yards and ran the football 3 times for 22 yards, but had 6 interceptions. Fitzpatrick scored -5.29 fantasy points.

Running Backs:

Interestingly it was two Atlanta Falcons that led the way for the running backs in Week 3. Devonta Freeman led the way with 33.95 fantasy points. Freeman ran the football 14 times for 152 yards. He also added 5 receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. Tevin Coleman scored 32.15 fantasy points in Week 3 to finish 2nd to Freeman. Coleman had 12 rushing attempts for 42 yards with 3 touchdowns. He added 3 receptions for 47 yards as well.

Carlos Hyde of the San Francisco 49ers put up 30.50 fantasy points in Week 3. Hyde carried the football 21 times for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hyde had 1 catch for 2 yards, but also had a 2-point conversion this week.

David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals and LeShon McCoy of the Buffalo Bills tied with 30.10 fantasy points for Week 3. Johnson carried the football 19 times for 83 yards and  touchdowns. He also added 3 receptions for 28 yards. McCoy got to his point total by rushing for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries. McCoy also caught 3 passes for 6 yards.

Sadly at the bottom this week is Matt Asiata of the Minnesota Vikings. Asiata was a hot waiver wire pick up this week with the injury to Adrian Peterson. Asiata carried the football 6 times for 15 yards and caught 1 pass for 4 yards. Asiata put up just 4.15 fantasy points for the week.

Wide Receiver:

Marvin jones Jr. of the Detroit Lions led all receivers with 37.25 fantasy points on the week. Jones Jr. had 6 catches for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Emmanuel Sanders of the Denver Broncos scored 30.70 fantasy points. Sanders had 9 catches for 117 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Terrell Pryor of the Cleveland Browns had 29.95 fantasy points. Pryor got his points using just about every category. Pryor had 8 catches for 144 yards, 4 rushing attempts for 21 yards and a touchdown; plus he threw for 35 yards.

T.Y. Hilton of the Indianapolis Colts scored 29.65 fantasy points. Hilton had 8 catches for 174 yards and a touchdown.

Doug Baldwin of the Seattle Seahawks caught 8 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown, but actually lost some fantasy points when ran the football 1 time for -4 yards. Baldwin ended up with 28.50 fantasy points.

It would've been a bad week to start Kamar Aiken of the Baltimore Ravens. There was talk Aiken would be the break out receiver for the Ravens this season. Well in Week 3 he had 1 catch for 8 yards and just 1.25 fantasy points.

Tight End:

Zach Miller of the Chicago Bears led the way for tight ends with 25.80 fantasy points in Week 3. Miller caught 8 passes for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Coby Fleener of the New Orleans Saints put up 22.40 fantasy points for the week. Fleener caught 7 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Cameron Brate of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored 20.35 fantasy points for Week 3. Brate caught 5 passes for 46 yards, but had 2 touchdowns.

Travis Kelce for the of the Kansas City Chiefs scored 19.40 fantasy points for the week. Kelce caught 6 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Jimmy Graham of the Seattle Seahawks rounds out the Top 5 for the week. Graham caught 6 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Graham put up 18.75 fantasy points on the week.

Did you jump on the Jesses James bandwagon after the first couple of weeks he had? The Pittsburgh Steelers rookie tight end had his first bad week in fantasy. James caught 2 passes for 10 yards ad scored 2.50 fantasy points on the week.

Defense/Special Teams:

No surprise with their 6 interceptions of Ryan Fitzpatrick the Kansas City Chiefs where the top scoring fantasy Defense/Special Team for the week with 39.00 fantasy points. The Minnesota Vikings came in 2nd with 33.64 fantasy points. It was the Buffalo Bills in 3rd with 27.33 fantasy points followed by the New England Patriots in 4th with 25.78 fantasy points and the Philadelphia Eagles round out the Top 5 for Week 3 with 21.56 fantasy points.

It was another bad week for the New Orleans Saints Defense /Special teams as for the second time in 3 weeks they find themselves at the bottom of the Defense/Special Teams rankings. New Orleans score a -2.50 fantasy points in Week 3.


Dustin Hopkins of the Washington Redskins led all kickers with 19 fantasy points. Hopkins just beat out Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens who had 18 fantasy points. Matt Prater of the Detroit Lions and Steven Hauschka of the Seattle Seahawks tied with 13 fantasy points and Cody Parkey of the Cleveland Browns rounds out the Top 5 for the week by scoring 12 fantasy points. 

It was a rough week for Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Roberto Aguayo as some of his pre-season struggles came back. Aguayo scored just 1.25 fantasy points in Week 3 even though his team out up 32 points in the game.
