Living (expressing) the life of God on earth is a function of the life of God in the spirit of a man finding expression through his living body (see Gal.2:20) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). "bread" in this passage of scripture is symbolic of natural food, which is what sustains the natural body. The scripture also gives us insight to the fact that bread alone is not sufficient to ensure living according the standard of Heaven. The spirit [which is the custodian of the life of God] has to be sustained also, and that can only be done with spiritual substance. In this matter, the spiritual substance designed to serve as fuel to sustain man from day to day is "the word that proceedeth from the mouth of God". It is also important to note that "proceedeth" as used in the passage implies a current continuous dealing. This goes to show that the spirit of man can only be sustained by standing in alignment with the current revelation position of the Spirit of God on a continuous basis. When you feed on the Word of God [from any source], it would convey no life and bear no energy releasing capacity to serve as fuel for your spirit if it is not in line with His current dealings with you. This truth is also captured in the account of Gods dealings with the children of Israel during their Exodus from Egypt. The bread He provided for them (manna) was to be eaten in fresh servings. At the point where they decided to sustain themselves with stored up manna, they discovered it had become stale, stinking and void of the life sustaining capacity (see Exodus 16). Stale spiritual meals are void of life. There is therefore the need to sit at the table of God consistently to lay hold of fresh servings of the bread of life per time. ...by every word that proceedeth... A balanced diet containing all the appropriate food nutrients is paramount for proper nutrition and functioning of the body system. Likewise, no aspect of the true word of God must be rejected (no matter how inconvenient it tastes to you) if you would have a balanced diet and experience proper growth in God. Make it a point of duty to eat fresh meals daily. God bless you.
