The national talent search examination commonly known as NTSE is a national level exam which is conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for granting scholarships. The NCERT conducts the exam in two stages, where in last year stage 1 exam was held in the month of November and stage 2 exams will be held on May 14, 2017. The student of class 10th who is interested in appearing in the exam in 2017 can apply for the scholarship and can fill the application form from August 2017. The scholarship will be awarded to the qualifying candidates on the basis of their performances in both the stages.

Selection Process: The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performances in both the stages as described below-

For Stage 1- Stage 1 is being conducted by states or union territories in a 3-days window. Any of the candidates studying in class 10th can themselves register to appear at this stage

For Stage 2- The exam will be conducted for the candidates who clear stage 1 and this will be conducted by NCERT

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates of class 10th are eligible to appear in this scholarship program.  Students from both government and private schools are eligible to appear and register themselves for the scholarship program. Students from any state can apply for the scholarship program

Application Form:

The students who are applying for the application form for the NTSE scholarship program must get themselves registered and fill in the application for the same through official website of exam conducting authority. To obtain the application form in paper mode, either the candidates can download a form from the official link or can contact the state or UT officer. The candidates are then required to submit the duly filled in application form to the state or UT officer after getting it sung from their school principal.

Exam Pattern:

The exam is conducted in 2 stages. For both the stages, the exam is divided into 2 parts- Mental Ability Test and Scholastic Aptitude Test. Each paper will consist of multiple choice questions and are held in paper-pen mode. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 mark and there is no negative marking in stage 1 while there is negative marking in stage 2.

Admit Card:

The exam conducting authority issued the admit card for the entrance exam in offline mode for both the stages. Candidates are required to collect they are admitted card for the exam from the chief superintendent of the exam center allotted to them.

Result:

The result for each state of stage 1 of the exam has been declared. The stage 2 and the final result of the exam, it will be declared tentatively in the month of November 2017. The result will be declared online on the official website and even posted to candidates via post or mail.
