I have only recently developed an enjoyment for liquid lipsticks, I felt somehow like wearing them was treacherous behavior, like I was cheating on my beautiful normal lipsticks. It was YouTube that finally persuaded me to try them, the longevity of the colours highly appealing to me. So I took the plunge and bought my first liquid lipstick.. and I.. well I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either, the colour was insanely long lasting but my lips certainly paid the price, it was so so drying. I was ready to give up on them all together when I came across NYX Liquid Suede.

NYX was always an exciting budget brand for me it seemed rather unobtainable, I could either buy it online or travel to a department store like Selfridges, however now I can find it in Boots, not my local one but it is close enough. As I said I was ready to give up on liquid lipsticks when I found Liquid Suede in Stone Fox… A slate blue shade unlike any lip colour I had seen before and I had to have it. I fell in love with the colour first and then the formula. I don’t find Liquid Suede drying at all but that may be because it doesn’t dry completely. I thought for me a liquid lipstick that doesn’t dry down would be a total no no, but once again these lip colours surprised me, there is a little transfer but the colour is still long lasting, I can wear it all day without touching up.

I currently own three shades; the slate ‘Stone Fox’, the nude ‘Sandstorm’ and the reddish brown ‘Vintage’. The formula seems to differ with each of them Stone Fox seems to wear the best which surprised me but it also transfers the most, Sandstorm is a little streaky upon the first application but it layers well. Vintage is my favourite all rounder it’s a beautiful colour that wears well even after eating and drinking.

I find them easy to apply, the applicator is a good shape and it goes on very smoothly, although some are patchy I find that they layer very well. I love the way they feel on my lips.

My only real problem with the Liquid Suede aside from the lack of drying is the scent, it’s not an offensive scent but it to me smells a little painty whereas some of the other lipsticks I own have a sweet scent and I sort of miss that.

My favourite part about wearing these lipsticks are how they make my lips look, I have thin-ish lips which I am quite insecure about and with the correct application I feel like I have had fillers without any of the pain.. Thank You NYX!!!
