One of my favorite things to do when I have a trip coming up is work on a capsule wardrobe fit just for the occasion. My hope is that others can take my examples and apply the basic pieces to their own closet when similar occasions arise! My last Packing Light post was a more casual trip to visit my hometown, but this time I’ve got an excuse to dress up!

Wedding season is still in full swing! We arrived yesterday for a long weekend for my brother-in-law’s wedding. I pulled out a couple of my more fun pieces since I don’t have a lot of opportunities to wear them (one of the down sides to being a homebody). I can’t lie, I’m pretty excited about a chance to break out my jumpsuit. Also, I brought along my favorite Kate Spade Watch. It is definitely among my most luxurious accessories and always makes me feel dressed up no matter what my outfit looks like. Jeans and a t-shirt? No problem! Throw on my gold watch and I’m ready for anything!

My collection is pretty dark for summer, but that’s just me: blacks, blues, and a hint of gold. You could easily replace the blacks with whites to brighten up your pallet.
